Laser Hair Removal at Gentle Touch
Soprano Ice FAQ’s
The Soprano’s patented SHR technology works by gradually heating the dermis to a temperature that effectively damages the hair follicle. This means that hair follicles don’t have to be exposed to a single pulse of high energy, which can injure the skin and cause the patient pain and suffering.
At the same time, the Soprano protects the surrounding tissue.
How the Alma Soprano Works
The Alma Soprano Ice Platinum removes unwanted hair by targeting the hair follicle.*1 The laser is able to achieve this by targeting the melanin within the hair follicle and heating it up to the point of damage.*
Another aspect of Alma Soprano Ice Platinum that is of benefit to patients is that the laser is typically safe for all skin type. Many earlier laser technologies for hair removal can cause skin discoloration, especially in patients with darker skin tones. However, because of the unique technology behind the Alma Soprano Ice Platinum, the hair removal treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed any time of year
What the Alma Soprano Ice Platinum Treats
Alma Soprano Ice Platinum was designed specifically for laser hair removal. This advanced laser can yield favorable outcomes on virtually any part of the body. For example, providers have used this Alma laser to help patients get rid of hair on the legs, chest, arms, back, bikini area, and arm pits, among others.
Is Alma Soprano Ice Platinum Safe?
Yes, when administered by expert providers, laser hair removal with the Alma Soprano Ice Platinum is a safe procedure. Most patients experience no significant discomfort and only feel a warming sensation on the skin, as the device is passed across the treatment area. This is in large part due to special cooling technology built into this hair removal laser, which makes the treatment comfortable and prevents damage to healthy tissues.
How Long do Treatment Results Last?
Laser hair removal treatments with the Alma Soprano Ice Platinum provide outcomes that are long lasting, once the follicle has been damaged.
What to Expect During Treatment?
When you come in for your Alma Soprano Ice Platinum laser hair removal, your provider will first shave the hair on the treatment area. This is an important step during the process, to avoid heating the hair on the surface on the skin, as that could cause skin damage.
After the surface hair has been shaved off, a special gel will be applied to the skin, which will help keep the skin cool and allow your provider to move the laser device on the treatment area more easily.
Before the actual laser treatment starts, your provider will give you protective eyewear, and will then begin gently moving the laser across the treatment area. It is common to hear a beeping sound during this process, which indicates the laser has been turned on. The duration of the treatment session will depend on the size of the treatment area.
Because of the specialized cooling technology, patients feel virtually no pain or discomfort during the procedure. Of course, this will vary from patient to patient, based on individual sensitivities.
The typical laser hair removal patient will need 6-8 treatment sessions, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart on the face and 6-8 weeks apart on the rest of the body, to target all of the hair follicles in the treatment area. Multiple treatment sessions are necessary because hair on the body grows in cycles, and while some follicles may be growing hair, others may be in a resting phase. Because the laser targets melanin in the hair, the follicle must be in a growth phase in order to be targeted effectively.
Alma Soprano Side Effects
Some patients may experience mild redness or skin sensitivity after the procedure. However, these side effects are typically mild, and do not cause noticeable discomfort.
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive treatment that reduces unwanted hair by using concentrated light energy to target the hair follicle. The pigment (melanin) in the hair absorbs the light, which is then converted into heat that damages the follicle and slows or prevents future growth. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are needed to effectively target follicles during their active growth phase. Over time, this results in finer, lighter hair and long-term reduction in growth, making it a popular option for smooth, low-maintenance skin.
What equipment do we use at Gentle Touch?
The Alma Soprano ICE. The Soprano is an advanced laser hair removal system designed to deliver effective, comfortable, and virtually pain-free treatments. It works by targeting the pigment within hair follicles using gentle light energy, which is gradually converted into heat to safely disable the follicle and reduce future hair growth. Unlike traditional lasers that use a single high-intensity pulse, Soprano ICE utilizes innovative SHR (Super Hair Removal) technology, delivering multiple low-energy pulses in a continuous, in-motion technique to ensure even coverage and minimize discomfort. Its built-in cooling system keeps the skin surface consistently cool throughout the treatment, enhancing comfort while protecting the skin. This combination of gradual heating and advanced cooling makes it a safe and effective solution for a wide range of skin tones and hair types, with optimal results achieved through a series of treatments.
